Het Herbal heroines project documenteert internationale, helende plantenkennis en geeft het een kleurrijk podium. Ontdek hoe je een Molukse plantenpleister maakt, waar je een kwasibitabeker voor gebruikt en hoe Marokkaanse vijgencompote je op de been houdt.

De Herbal heroines van deze expositie delen hun familierecepten met jou. Hun achtergronden lopen uiteen maar ze zijn verbonden door hun bijzondere, helende plantenkennis. Zie het als eeuwenoude wisdom of the crowd die zich manifesteert in simpele (en ook hele lekkere) familierecepturen.

The Herbal heroines project documents healing plant knowledge from around the world and gives it a vibrant stage. Learn how to make a Moluccan herbal poultice, discover what a kwasibita cup is for, and find out how Moroccan fig compote can help you keep going.

The Herbal heroines featured in this exhibition share their treasured family recipes with you. Their backgrounds are diverse, but they’re united by a deep, powerful knowledge of healing plants. Think of it as centuries-old “wisdom of the crowd,” passed down through simple (and seriously tasty) homemade remedies.

Herbal Heroines Open Air

Loop en geniet vanaf 31 juli 2025 van de Herbal heroines tentoonstelling op het Westerpark. Ontdek, langs de tientallen portretten, de helende kennis uit alle windstreken gevat in easy huismiddeltjes. Van snotterende neuzen, buikkrampen, huidverzorging tot aan postpartum-soep. De Herbal heroines delen hun familierecepten met jou. Het zijn veilige en door de tijd bewezen huismiddeltjes, waarmee je zelf aan de slag kunt.
